Thanks For your help so far. In response to your questions. #1 I don't have a recent copy of my credit report ( I guess I'll have to get one, but time is not on my side according to the CA)Frankly I'm pretty sure it was a charge card from araound that time #2 Regarding mini-miranda they spoke to my wife at her shop 1st and she was so shook up shes not sure about 30 day notices or any "mini-miranda", they said its Her account (but they're nice enough to talk to me) and left ME the impression that I had till Friday!! #3 The name of the ca was "Covenant Agency" We are in Pennsylvania and this debt would have been incurred here as well.#4 Will the Validation letter spoil any chance I have at negotiating later they tried to imply that my(her) time was up. they said debt was a total of $7,798 (including interest since '96) and that they take $4,830 (principal only) to be "nice. Only payment arraingment offered (and I asked) was $603 a month for 8 months. I'm barely getting the Mortgage paid within 30 days of being late, and even that is by the skin of my teeth with sidework. Anyway in all the fervor at work I didn't even get the phone, I'm sure my wife did. I want to excercise amy rights I might have and I know it seems stupid, but I don't want to have them accellerate things either. Thanks!!
