Prior to Dec.1997 there was no requirement for OCs to report the first delinquency. The FCRA mandated that accounts charged off AFTER that date must have the first default date reported.

Sooo- IF it was charged off before 12/1997-- it could have defaulted well over the 180 day mandated chargeoff period.
