Unfortunately, the "ducks" line up differently for each situation. The factors to be considered are: Your State, re: exemptions on judgments, garnishment and in BK. You income -now and in the forseeable future. Yor long term goals, i.e. buying a home, refinancing, moving etc. Your tolerance for aggrevation, stress and harrassment. I suggest you figure out where you want to be in 7 yeara, how you would like to be living, and do whatever seems the best plan for achieving that goal. In my opinion, too many people feel that because they are in debt they have lost control of their lives, so they just react to whatever the CAs throw at them. You cannot "put your ducks in a row" until you decide where you wish them to waddle off to.
