If you dispute with the CRA and they are able to verify with the CA they keep it on the report.

If you send notice to the CA (SOL letter) that enjoins them from further collection efforts, they presumably can no longer verify to the CRAs.

If you are in Wyoming, (not Ca.) and the accounts defaulted while you were in Ca. you are in a 4 year SOL, if however, they defaulted while you were in Wy. it is an 8 year SOL.
