I and "Observer" are not condoning violations of the FDCPA, simply advising you that their violation is NOT going to work for you as a defense or mitigation of their lawsuit against you.

Now, if you are going to try to settle, and they have a violation, you COULD possibly use that as a bargaining tool with them.It just won't work in court.
