There are multiple sources for asset searches. It is possible that it could turn up. What they're worth is easy if they know how many shares you've got all they have to do is get the stock price off of the NYSE listings !

On the other hand, if they don't find it with an asset search, if you're sued you will be subjected to what they call 'debtor examinations', and you would have to disclose all your assets. They also use interrogatories which you MUST answer, otherwise I believe they can charge you with contempt of court.
