Contacted Charge Card Co. - Account in Collections

I posted earlier about contacting the charge card company regarding a settlement. When I called them, they stated that the account was already turned over to GC Services (a collection agency). When I contacted the collection agency, they couldn't find any record of my name or the ex-husband's name in their system. I didn't have an account number through the collection agency because I have never received a notice from them. The statements from the charge card company are being sent to the ex's address and I would assume so are the collection notices. So now what? If the charge card company told me the account was turned over to collections and they have no record - what do I do?
