Okay, I really need some help here. I have (had) an account w/Zales and it was recently charged off (or so I thought). I really, really don't understand how it was charged off in the first place (only 2 1/2 months late). Anyway, I received a phone call this morning from a woman who wants to settle the account for 70% before it went to "3rd party collections". I am able to do that but I want to know what I can ask for in exchange. What is "3rd party collections"?
Can I request a lower % pay off?
What do I request as far as my credit report?
How do I get it in writing? Thanks so much in advance for you help!!!!!!
