I'm in MA. Honestly I don't even remember the last time I paid the original creditor. Could very well be 2 years. So if I never paid anything again, it starts counting 7 years from then?? But if I pay the lawyer, then do they start counting 7 years from my last payment? How about liens too? That word just scares me. I mean, obviously I know I actually OWE this money, so the threat of them siezing my car was what got me to pay off Sears (through a law office). If I had the $$ I'd pay off the balances, but it's hard enough living check to check as it is. So if I can't make my $200 payment one month, or it's between paying that or eating, they can kiss my a$$ :) I'll check out that site which was posted, I just want to know how soon it will be off my credit report. 7 years from when they are paid off (through the law offices?). Like I said, it's not that I dont' want to pay them, I know they are legitimate charges, but another thing I'm worried about is, say law office A calls me/sends me letters saying they got my mastercard account. I owe 2k. Ok, I pay them $200 a month until it's paid off. How does that show on my credit? That it's "paid" and will be off in 7 months? I guess I just need to do more reading. Thanks again
