Help please. Can they take $ from checking account?????

I have been served papers for a cc, I am in Michigan. I don't work and the card is in my name. I don't have wages to garnish, but I have a checking account. Will they take money from this, it is a joint checking with my husband listed first. We use this checking to pay all our bills and if they take money from here, I will have everything bouncing. If they will, how long before will I get a notice that they are going to be taking money from here, or won't I even get notice, it will just happen. Help please.
