How long after I hire a lawyer to file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy can I expect the petition to be done and ready to submit to the court. Also, does the court ordered stay on creditors kick in imediately upon submission of the filing?
I ask this because I intend to get the ball going early next week and would like to get the bankruptcy information to the civil court before my case comes up. oh, and will this stop the lawsuit from actually even going to court?
