Devious CA for Capital One

This site helped me realize I narrowly escaped a catastrophe. In October, I started to receive letters from a CA for Capital One. They offered me a deal that if I accepted, They would give me a new credit card. They would transfer my old debt to the new credit card and all I had to do is send them $50 per month. My credit limit would start at $1 (one dollar) and would increase with each payment I made. I also wouldn't have to pay any of the interest that had accrued on the old debt at all. It was very appealing, but I didn't respond because it seemed too good to be true. Now I know why they did it, thanks to y'all: the 3 year statute of limitations window closed the month before. If I ahd signed on the dotted line, they would've had me good. So much for their grand jesture.
