differance between Charge off vs Write Off - HELP plese

I just recieved my CR - I don't understand - could someone tell me what this example means? Status: Account charged off / Past due 150 days. $4918. written off. $880 past due as of 11-2002
This account is scheduled to continue on record until 6-2009. So does this mean I still owe $4918 or $880? so should I even worry about this one? A collection person has been calling me on this one, they would take $3444 if I paid by yesterday, didn't have the money so I enrolled into "Light House Credit Management" But if I only owe $880 then I could come up with that money but who would I pay to the Collection agence or CC or should I do nothing? I live in NY so SOL is 7 years... any help would help... Thanx
