SC has a $5,000 per person homestead exemption. If you own your home jointly, and only one of you signed on the card, they would likely not be able to do anything.If you both signed, and the judgment was against both of you, the exemption is doubled t $10,000.

With a 3 year SOL and no garnishment and a leased car, if you had your bank accounts jointly with another person, you would have little exposure.

You would, of course have problems getting another lease.
