If they are calling you after receiving your validation request, they are in violation of the FDCPA. Collection activities should CEASE until they can validate the debt.

There IS no time limit to force them to produce the validation. BUT, if they can't validate or it takes them 6 months, then they should NOT be calling you. Unfortunately, most CA's will violate this all the time, so you need to remind them of the law - Section 809 of the FDCPA.
