Why Chat Local lawyer told me in BK they might take our property

Why Chat you told me I might be able to file BK as an individual when I told you the circumstances earlier. You also advised me to speak to a attorney I spoke to an attorney on the phone today (have appointments to see a couple more). Anyway this is an older lawyer that has done lots of BK's and he said that even though the debts were from prior to my marriage and the property My husband and I own is in both our names it still could be sold for My half of the equity (we owe nothing on the place)
I am in Missouri. Is that really possible? If so couldn't a Judgment end up the same way??
