What state are you in ? When did you last make any payments on any of these ?? I'm no expert at reading CR's either, they make it as confusing as possible but I'll take a stab at it. 1- Means on 24 accounts your TOTAL OWED is 10K. The DUE amount is the total of payments that are past due, what you SHOULD have been paying but didnt'. 2- What kind of account is this ? Are you sure its closed ? 3 - The xxxx thing is a security deal. If they're all that old, then they're all in collections and they wouldn't list the 'date opened'. 4 - Sounds like they have NO INFO - do you know what kind of account its for ? 5 - WHERE are these 2000 dates listed, in the Negative info/collections section ? If so, the 'date opened' is typically when a CA got the account and reported it to the CRA's. 6 - You will NOT renew old debts by disputing these things. IF you pay a collection, it will sit there for 7 more years from the date you paid it. 7 - DISPUTE, DISPUTE, DISPUTE - go to Creditnet and read the info there in the Credit Talk area (you have to 'join' but its free). There are sample letters there for disputing entries. If you don't know what they are, dispute them as 'not mine'. If the CRA's verify them, you go from there. You should also check out WhyChat's site for the letter to CRA's for expired SOL accounts. If these accoutns ARE past the SOL, WhyChat's letter may work for you.
