Notice of Appearance

I filed a notice of appearance along with my answer to a summons. I want to change the venue since it is not in the county where i live. I mentioned the motion for a change of venue in the answer, but, did not file a separate form exclusively for that purpose. AM I now barred from asking, or will the mention w/i my answer suffice as a motion?
