I'm not sure about your exact question, but I too was unable to pay my student loans for about 5 years. I had about 8,000 in unpaid student loans and right out of the blue, I received a letter in the mail saying I owed and to PAY NOW. I called the collection agency that had my loan and was able to start making payments on it.....
