This PI is the one who commented that since we just purchased the house, they decided to re-open the case. Apparently, this case was closed in our local courts (we never got info that there was ever a case) because they could not find my husband. Now that we have obtained the mortgage, they have our info and came by the house saying the case was being reviewed and re-opened in court. In answer to your question, we have never seen any paperwork on this, unfortunately, the SOL is not up for another 2 years so I am wondering if we will be stuck paying double for something we no longer have. My husbnad asked for all the paperwork, this loan was through a local credit union, usually they are on the up and up.
