I doubt very seriously there's any "case" to re-open - its scare language. Closed in the courts ? This kind of thing doesn't get 'closed in local courts'. WAS there a judgment issued for this repo ? You need to call the courthouse ASAP and find out if there is one. If so, I'm surprised it didn't turn up when you bought the house. Other than a judgment already being filed, there's no 'case'. They could have been sitting on pursuing collection until you had some assets to protect or looked like you had money to dish out- now they come knocking !! With a new house, they figure you have money and now a house to protect, except you have no equity they can attach.
