I am sure why chat can better handle this but the SOL on a written account is 5 in virginia and 6 in wisconsin. If the last payment was 8 years ago you appear to be safe but need to show up and respond. Why chat has information on his site on how to respond to a suit past the SOL. I do not know about you but I would call em up and tell them it is well past the SOL and if they continue you will countersue them for defamation, slander, and various fdcpa violations.
