I have just received a summon to appear in associate circuit court regarding 2 credit card debts. I was previously informed that the both credit card debts had been purchased from the original banks by a third party company. In the summons, it references that the debts had been assigned, not purchased. I own a small business with my wife and we meek out a very modest living. Since we are an S Corporaton, the corporation is lending my wife and I money to live on. I do not draw a wage or salary. If we do cut a paycheck, it is made out to my wife. Based on the above information, what can I look forward to when I go to court with or without an attorney? If a judgement is entered, what will I be FORCED to do regarding pay back, if anything? Will they settle for .50 on the dollar? Can I still file for bankruptcy before the court date? What are the most successful ways of getting a judgement reversed?

Sorry for so many questions. I am very stressed and would like any input or advice available.

Thanks.
