They can only continue to add interest if it allows for it in your original credit card agreement, and I don't know of one yet that does NOT include this in their terms.

If you've never received a letter, then they're in violation of the FDCPA for failing to do so and notifying you of your rights to dispute the debt.

Their tactic of saying they can't or won't accept payments, only the full amount is hogwash, ignore it. Just don't talk to them on the phone, its a waste of your time and energy. There is NO law anywhere that says you have to talk to them or return their calls. Next time they call, tell them to put it in writing and mail it to you, then hang up !
