If you are co-signers, the best thing you can do is to try to get your name removed and notify the cc companies in writing, that when you paid them off you also requested your name be removed from the account.

If you are an authorized user, do the same thing and demand any reporting be remved from your reports.

If HE was an authorized user, you cansay you requested his name and account privileges be withdrawn when you paid the cards off, and that the additional charges are not your responsiblity, as you requested his privileges be cancelled.

I personally don't think any of this will work, but it will at least prevent any more charges.
