Why Chat,
Thanks again for all the info, they are from MT and not required to have a license nor be bonded, right?
I live in WA state where a CA is required to be licensed and bonded.
Now, what does this all mean to me?
Also, does it make any difference if it is an attorney debt collector instead of a CA?
I checked ABA and the main name in the business is licensed to practice law apparently only in MT ( it is the only state listed for his name ) ; just to make sure I went to WA bar assoc. and so far his name is not there.
I have a DV letter ready to send them but I am waiting to see how far they go.
Is it wiser to send the DV letter mentioning that I am also disputing the alleged debt ( in the hopes they will not sue me upon receiving the letter before they even validate it ) or should I wait and if they sue me I then send the letter?
Sorry for the many questions and thanks a lot for all the answers!
