My husband had his credit pulled this weekend to try to buy a car. We found out about something on his credit report that I don't feel is right, and I was wondering if we have a leg to stand on. Here is the problem....

I filed bankruptcy 3 years ago, before we were married, so the bankruptcy was in my maiden name. My husband has a Providan card in HIS name, but I am listed as an authorized user. This account shows up on his credit report has having been filed on during bankruptcy, which is sooooo not true. Yes, I filed bankruptcy and I had a Providian card in MY name too, but I have no idea why HIS card would show as having filed bankruptcy. Also, even though it shows that for his Providian card, there is NO bankruptcy listed on his credit report. He still has this credit card and has been using it for the past three years, until just recently when we signed up for Consumer Credit Counseling Service.

I think we should send a letter to all three Credit Bureau's and ask for the removal of the "bankruptcy" term from HIS Providian card, as he has never filed bankruptcy in his life.

How should I go about it? Please help!
