I think you are going about this the wrong way.

You need to send a CRRR letter to the LEGAL DEPT.of the bank advising them that they are in violation of the FEDERAL & NY STATE FCRA. They are reporting a collection balance on an account that was legally voided by actions of (give the date of repo) file # (give the file # of the repo).

Request that they immediately notify (give names of any CRAs they are reporting to) to purge this account from your records.

Put in my standard closing, "I reserve the right to etc. etc."
