Belo is a link to Ohio's Lease laws. I believe the CA lawyer is in violation in several areas. Was the collection request in writing, or by phone? If by phone,request a complete account statement, including their authority to collect on this account.If they refuse, advise them that the call is being recorded for proccessing with the Ohio Attorney General's Office and ask the caller to speak clearly and give their full name. If you have a letter, with the "mini-miranda" respond with a CRRR, cease and desist/dispute stating that their claim is not valid under Ohio's Lease Laws,and that you will hold them and ( name of the original lender) liable for any damages. Send a copy to the legal dept of the original creditor/car dealer.
