Hi, thanks for responding so fast! Thanks for clearing up the 1099c stuff. I know you (WhyChat)are not a fan of settlements with creditors but I would like an honest opinion(s) as far as the statement in the agreement in writing from my CC CO., that states:

"they will not try to collect the remainder of the debt or sell or transfer the debt to any debt recovery services and the account will be considered paid in full".

My Questions?
Do you think this statement in writing is enough to get them to not be able to collect, or sue me later? And is it enough in writing to stop a collection agency from suing?

I know I need that 1099c to be safe, but it is too long away and I want to be free from this particular debt for good. (I hear some do not send the 1099c, or seek further collection before the 1099c is issued and I want this to be soooo, over) Any info would be GREAT! Thanks for being up so late and for helping me? :)

Kate!
