Pleas help.What should I do if a laywer has written me about a lawsuit for an uncollect debt of mine, which this is a very old debt. It has been atleast 6yrs since I last paid anything on it. Is there anything on statues of limitations? I thought that after a certain period of time that the debt collectors could not collect any longer and that after 7 years it has to be taken off of your credit report. Is this true? Please help.
