Scott and LadynRed.....you guys rock! So, honestly if you were in my position, would you do it? I am in about $20000 in debt and most of my accounts are about 5 months past due. I'm afraid that I will be sued(I know some of my creditors have a reputation of sueing) while we are married.
Also,let's say that my fiancee gets the house in his name before we are married....then a year from now we want to refinance with my name added? Will our interest rates go up because of my bankruptcy?
After seeing your reply, I feel a little better. My future husband is a really hard worker, is great with his money and I don't want to ruin that for him or his credit. What about taxes at the end of the year? Are there any surprises I should know about?
