I'd been receiving "unavailable" calls about 10-12 a day for a couple months now. Today someone finally left a message: name and company: "CAMCO". What the heck is "camco?" I got busy on Google and found this list!

I have a 10-12 Y.O. credit card problem. After reading a little here I called him back. He was extremely polite, prefaced his spiel with "we don't sue or anything" (hmmmm...class action result?) went on to tell me what they WILL do:

Apparantly there is a list that is circulated called "WATCH report" or something like that. He said if I refused to settle with them my name goes on this report, which is widely circulated among creditors.
Thereafter, if I tried to make a major purchase (say a home) the lender would spot my name on this list, call CAMCO and get the "dope" on me. You get the idea...

I asked him how many pennies they paid for my ancient debt before this attempt to extort, etc., told him not interested and hung up. They're still callin though...

Anyone have any info on this "WATCH Report" ?

Thanks in advance
