I think he's telling you a fairytale, amongst the rest of his B.S. If you were to apply for ANY credit, the creditors are going to pull your CREDIT REPORT, not be looking at some collection agency rag of a 'report'. What's on your CR is ALL that matters and this 10-12 year old debt should NOT be on your credit report - therefore no impact at all ! If SCAMCO puts this on your CR, you've got 'em dead to rights with a huge FCRA violation, so keep an eye on your reports. SCAMCO is scum and the 'nice guy' you got on the phone.. well he's the 'good cop'.. next you'll hear from 'bad cop' .. and he/she won't be the least bit 'nice'. Send these scumbags WhyChat's expired SOL debt letter and tell them to jump back to the bottom of the swamp they crawled out of !! Or-- you can let Scott do it for you :D
