I am wanting to dispute a RMA collection account that appears on my Equifax report only. I had a Sear account that was charged off, . Sears listed the DOLA as 4/96 with a $0 balance. RMA purchased the account and have the DOLA as 11/96 with a $1244 balance. I have tried disputing the information with Equifax twice over the last year. I disputed that the DOLA is incorrect for both Sears and RMA. Equifax has responded as "verified" on both. How it that possible since they both refer to the same credit account? Equifax has sugguested that I dispute with RMA. I made the mistake of calling RMA to try to lauch a dispute, and this was a big waste of my time. I am trying to get RMA to change the DOLA to match Sears as 4/96. This way they both come off my report 4/03. Then I can start looking for a house with nothing bad on my credit reports. F.Y.I. I live in Ohio and from what I can figure out form various web-sites the SOL is 6 years, so I think that I can get tuff with RMA and don't have to worry about being sued. Pleae help!
