I am currently being sued by a credit card company for an account that they say was opened after my divorce in 2000. I have not opened any accounts since my divorce. I called and disputed the account and asked for proof that I opened this account and the only thing I got in response was an affidavit from a person in the collections department. Is this legal and can I demand to see my signature where the account was opened and receipts with my signature on them for purchases. I need help. Anyone with any answers or same experience--please respond.
