No, I called them as soon as I got the letter in the mail. The rep that took my call advised me that they couldn't settle or make a payment arrangement with me because they had turned it over to a collection agency. I don't know why they sent the letter to settle, unless they just wanted to get me to call them so they could direct me to the collection agency. I hadn't received anything (no calls & no mail) from the collection agency at this time. But since I called the CA to make arrangements to settle this, they send me reminder notes that a payment is coming due, what I have paid so far & the remaining balance. But I haven't signed an agreement or anything with them. The only thing they get from me is the money that I send them through Western Union. They tried to get my bank account number, but I told them I didn't have one active. That is one thing I will never ever do again, I learned my lesson on that many years ago from doing business with a company that helps you "fix/clear" your credit report. BTW, good luck with trying to settle with Cap1, they aren't nice to deal with. Be weary of any letters from them offering you a deal to settle, because they are bogus as far as I am concerned.
