They have to sue you in the state where you reside. That SOL is usually what is used.

Patti is right, the SOL for a deficiency on a repo - voluntary or not, is TWO YEARS. The state SOL would start when you first went delinquent on the car payment to the original creditor and never caught up again - NOT the charge-off date, NOT the repo date.
