Yes, the FDCPA says no profanity or abusive language. Bottom line,the lawyer isn't going to agree to anything less than what he told you on the phone. You can try WRITING your OWN settlement offer for what you can or would pay and send it certified. Phone is pointless with these people. The fact is, if you go to court, you'll be offered a settlement anyway, and you can also be prepared then with your own offer, in writing.
