I don't think they can come back and ue you if they sold the account.
My situation is a little different. I have two accounts with MBNA one for $10200 and one for $5500. They are both 60+ overdue. I cannot afford to pay them anymore.. which sucks because I have been with them for 6 years and in the last year I got into debt because of some things and then getting layed off a year ago and then finally getting another job with a big paycut has finally forced me to quit paying about 5 of my cards.. I used to have awesome credit as little as 1.5 yrs ago.. really sucks..
