I tried to work with MBNA, was actually offered a settlement, accepted and then they renigged and charged off in Dec. 02. The settlement offered me to pay $1515 by 2/28/03 and the account would be settled. I then received a call telling me they had decided to charge it off. The lady I talked to was a complete witch. I sent them a letter and a copy of the one from them but have yet to hear anything back from them. Not sure if there is anything I can do or not, but I plan on disputing it on my credit report.
