I'm in the process of reviewing my credit report and trying to "move on" with my life and clean it (the report) up. It has been (for most of my debts) 7 years since the date of last activity. My question is this: I want to wait until June to order a "current" report and review it. If there are items that are still on the report that should be eliminated, how do I go about making sure that they are taken care of? Also, I've noticed that some of the companies have "extended" the amount of time that they should be reporting for ex: one credit card company, nothings been charged, promised, etc. since 1995, this should be off my credit report, but experian is stating not scheduled to come off until 2009. Also I recieved an older experian report that states the same credit card should be off my report in 2008, so they keep "extending" the time that it should be removed. Can anyone answer some of these questions I have.
