Worrying all the time! Can someone tell me something...

I live in TN. I have 5 credit card debts. The largest one was $4,000, but due to the fact that they've continued to add interest, it's close to $7,000 now. I have 2 children, and have numerous medical bills and am paying any extra money I can scrape up on these. I haven't used any of these credit cards in over 2 years, and haven't paid on any of them in a year. I am married now, but wasn't married when I acquired these debts and have not used these cards since I've been married. My husband only makes $260 a week. A couple of the cards have been threatening to obtain a judgement for a while now. Our car (which is really the only asset we have) is in my husband's name. I read on a website that if an unsecured debt was acquired in only your name before marriage, they cannot touch anything of your spouse's. Does anyone know if this is true? Also, given my situation, what do you think would happen to me if they do obtain a judgement against me? Thanks for any info.
