If the debt is that old, then the SOL has run out in all but 1 state - RI. If you're not in RI, then A$$-et is out of luck ! SOL cannot be reset in the way you describe. They cannot LEGALLY sue you to collect either. If they are stupid enough to try it, the expired SOL is your defense to get the suit thrown out.

Send them WhyChat's expired SOL letter and tell them to go pee up a tree !
