I maxed my Discover card out years ago and haven't charged anything on it in over two years. I have made payments on it regularly, although not the minimum payment, until recently when I was told by an employee at Discover that they would turn me over to collections even though I was paying on it because I wasn't paying the minimum payment. Now my debt has almost doubled and is up to over $6,500! I am tempted to not pay anything else on this darn card since they are going to send me to collections when I am paying and putting myself in a bind. My question is this....can they garnish my wages or seize any of my assets? What are they going to do to me if I can't get caught up because I honestly can't afford the minimum payment right now. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. TIA.
