I posted earlier but I forgot to put what state I live in. I live in Louisiana, which is a community property state. If I don't pay my Discover card anymore or can't pay the minimum on the thing what will they do to me? Would it be better to continue paying them something every month even if it's not the minimum or will it go into collections that way too? If so, then I'm not going to put myself in a bind to pay it. Our van and truck are both in my husband's name and we do own a home. Can they seize property on an unsecured credit card or will they just try to garnish my wages? I'm really worried about this and I'm losing sleep at night wondering what will happen. I get countless calls from Discover every day but they have no desire to work with me, they just demand that I pay the late fees and when I tell them I can't and offer to try to work something out with them they tell me that they can't work with me, it's all or nothing with them. I'm at my wits end!!! I have three small children and other bills that I am current on and they are not harrassing me so I'm about ready to just throw my hands up in the air with this Discover thing and just say to heck with them but I'm concerned about the consequences of that. Feel free to email me with any suggestions.
