Disputed debt never verified

I originally disputed a debt that OSI claimed was owed to BellSouth, the debt was never verified. After several warning letters I finally sent a complaint letter to the FTC and my states AG office. An attorney “Jeffery Waldo” out of MS is now handling the debt.
My question is since OSI failed to validate the debt nearly a year ago, how can this attorney now be threatening a lawsuit? I am going to send the following letter to the attorney, is this a good idea? Do I need to make any changes?
