What you want to do is let them make the first moves. WHen they call, send C&D letters. When they demand payment, yyou send validation & dispute letter. Your are buying time for yourself and laying FTC traps for them.
Your home is protected, your cars are secured assets. Doublecheck on the partnership. If this is a limited liability partnership, surely you know that though attachement of these is possible, it is very risky. The poison pill feature makes the attaching party - in this case CA - liable for all taxes due. And you are allowed to declare phantom profits purely for 'benefit' of the newly attached suckfish.
Settling is nice but you want to avoid any 1099 troubles with the IRS, the CA's way of punishing you for a good faith partial settlement.
You want to immediately document all the upset, every muscle ache and gastric anomaly you are experiencing as result of the abuse directed at you by the CA and OC personell to your doctors. This can prove vital in coming years.
Don't take any loans to pay these bums, this is one of their new traps. In time, some of these may leave you alone.
If sued, answer the suit yourself, not all that difficult. Mostly a matter of typing the papers in proper form, answering each allegation with "Lacking Knowledge". This makes the CA graduate of Lee Harvey Oswald School of Hair Teasing and Legal Stuff work for his money, something they don't like to do.
They hope when they sue that you don't answer so that they can glean a default judgement. If you answer by stating that you lack knowledge, they have to prove what they say - costly. If it gets hairy, you can always get a lawyer. Sometimes even with suits, a year or so passes and they are dismissed for lack of prosecution.
Remember above all, these are people who don't like to work. They want easy hits. Show them resistance, push them back, many times they move along to the next target of opportunity.
Use military tactics to destroy these chickens.

And by the way, what is it with all the CA activity in Florida of late? This is supposed to be debtors' haven. What gives?
