If by phone, it is probably an out of State office, as I do not believe they have a licensed office in Fl.

An out of State CA is somewhat limited in what they are allowed to do. They would have to turn the account over to a Fl. lawyer,and for $1,600 it is liely not cost effective as it would have to be in small claims court and they could not recoup their legal expenses.

As to what you do with your $$ once you have sold your home-- Some investments are unattachable and exempt in BK,like insurance annuities. Or, you could reinvest in another homesteaded propety.
