Yeah, this seems to be an old parlor trick that Asset Acceptance Corporation pulls also, and Edelman et al are going after them also. If the state legislatures and judges are going to bend over for the CA and OC cheese, so be it. A good class action might be just the remedy. Could it be that the CA's are reaging debt as a hedge against 'losses' due to increased consumer awareness and assertiveness as to protecting their rights? A sleazy law firm out of Jacksonville, FL also reages debt when they can't otherwise prevail. They then sell the account at a better price to say, Northland Group, another fine and honorable house of goblins. They will use any pretext for reaging of course, usually trying to make it your fault. Tedious, as Dr.Lecter would say. Keyser Soze
